What started as a hobby for Zia Sir (founder) soon became his passion, eventually transforming into Zia’s Academy—a place where thousands have discovered the joy of skating. With a vision to train, inspire, and uplift young skaters, he built an academy that has become Mumbai’s most trusted name in skating.
Carrying forward this legacy, his son Afzal Shaikh has taken Zia’s Academy to new heights. A state champion himself, with over 11 years of experience, Afzal has dedicated himself to coaching, mentoring, and refining the next generation of skaters. Under his leadership, the academy continues to produce top-tier athletes, shaping district, state, and national champions.
For over three decades, Zia’s Academy has been a family-driven institution, committed to providing expert training with passion, dedication, and excellence. More than just a skating school, we are a generational legacy, empowering skaters to achieve their dreams—whether in fitness, competition, or professional sports. ZARS is the only skating academy in India who has been doing 16 years of persistent road rally on the occasion of Republic Day from Chowpatty to Colaba with the support of our beloved Mumbai Police.
ZARS have been a go-to choice for many renowned personalities such as Rohit Sharma, Sunny Leone, Shreyas Talpade, Amyra Dastur and Darsheel Safary.
ZARS has worked with Vidyut Jammwal and Arjun Rampal for the promotion of their action-packed film ‘Crakk’, bringing the thrill of skating into mainstream cinema.
​ZARS is proud to have trained two Guinness World Record holders Diya & Mehar, who achieved their milestones under our academy's expert guidance.
ZARS hosts an annual inter-club championship, 1-hour non-stop skating, fancy dress on skates, and more such events to foster a spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship among students.
